Michelle was born in Melbourne Australia on the 7th of February 1982 in Melbourne, Australia.

From the age of three Michelle began to show some musical interest by continuously playing her little ukulele that she received as a Christmas present, and singing the Beatles hit “Michelle my Belle.”

At the age of eight Michelle was auditioned and was accepted to study with the Victorian Children’s Choir (VCC), the story really starts from there. She remained with the choir for 3 years and was chosen to train and perform with the VCC’s Performing Choir.

Once she realized that singing was her true passion, Michelle started having private singing training. Since that time she has performed in many different events, theatre productions, television and radio programs in Australia and overseas.

At the age of 18 Michelle entered into the Maltese Song for Europe Festival with a song by a Maltese/Australian composer. It was at this time that she began to truly appreciate her Maltese heritage and what her parents had taught her. Michelle was in Malta for several months leading up to the festival to participate in publicity interviews and rehearsals for the event. It was quite an achievement for a Maltese/Australian girl to be part of the festival especially since she was not raised on the Island and it is a memory that she holds close to her heart.

Michelle also continued her Vocal studies through Melbourne University’s prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, completing a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice and Opera. It was here that Michelle’s musical taste developed even more bringing a diverse mix of artists to her ear from Maria Callas to Eva Cassidy, Barbra Streisand, Carol King, Whitney Huston, Joss Stone, Tina Arena, Aretha Franklin and many, many more. Michelle also enjoys an array of musical styles from Soul, Opera, Jazz, Lied, Blues, French Song, Folk, English Song, Rock but most of all her love for a rich lyrical ballad has never been surpassed.

In 2006, Michelle continued studying to become a Teacher of music and singing. This time was very demanding and required much commitment and dedication from Michelle which up until then was always given to her singing. Surprisingly for her it was at this time that she began to write her own songs.

Michelle finds writing music a very exposing, exciting, and soul searching process but she acknowledges and accepts the journey it is taking her on and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to share it with you all.

In the next few months you should find her new album Plain & Simple on this website which will be filled with all of her own original songs and available for you to download. Stay tuned!
